Tenacity Wrestling - Show 1:
'Pilot'
August 12, 2023
'THE GM SEARCH'
INT: THE VENUE - PRIVATE ROOM.
The show opened in the small office which had Sabrina Smith seated behind a desk and a man opposite her. The room itself is quite small.
SABRINA SMITH:
So I can see you do have the manager experience. Two years according to your resume. I just feel like it's the industry that's going to be a slight problem.
The interview taking place has the young man in his early twenties. He's got a fresh haircut, a nice suit on and a briefcase resting against his chair.
SABRINA SMITH:
You managed a shoe outlet.
INTERVIEWEE:
Yes. But I am here looking to break into a new industry.
SABRINA SMITH:
I can see that. I just think this is a little different than what you're used to. There's a lot more staff to manage, there's managing talent relations, there's promoting the shows, handling new applications if we get any more talent, there's egos to manage, and there's a lot of moving pieces to take care of every time we run a show.
The list of tasks has changed the interviewee's body language to that of worry, fretting, and out of his depth.
INTERVIEWEE:
Okay -- that's a lot more than I did at Stockleys Shoes & Lifts.
SABRINA SMITH:
I'm sorry, but I don't think we're a fit for one another. You're a business shoe and we're looking for an air Jordan.
Sabrina attempted to soften the blow.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - INTERVIEW ROOM - INTERVIEWEE TALKING HEAD
In a small room sitting on a comfortable chair is the interviewee. He talks directly to the camera in a talking head cut away.
INTERVIEWEE:
My Name is Peter Simons and I just got out of an interview for the general manager position, which I don't think I'm going to get. But she is wrong about one thing. When it comes to shoes.
This is where Peter sat forward as if this was a prepared interview answer he'd rehearsed.
PETER SIMONS:
I wouldn't say I'm a common loafer. I'd say I'm actually a croc and here's why.
Peter cleared his throat and began by tapping his finger as if he was going to start listing out.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
Sabrina exited the room and looked to her right towards Abigail Blake, shaking her head toward Abby.
Blake concluded her conversation with three men wearing staff blue shirts and came over to Sabrina.
ABBY BLAKE:
So Peter Simmons wasn't GM material either?
SABRINA SMITH:
Simons, and no. We haven't really had a lot of applicants since we're going with this surprise intro show.
ABBY BLAKE:
I think we will. Having a show under our belt will be good. We'll see some more people sign up for the promotion and I bet you a Krispy Kreme dozen we'll have some GM applications too.
SABRINA SMITH:
Hopefully! It'll be nice to have a little help.
ABBY BLAKE:
Sure, I think we got this tonight. All the talent have been told where to change, entrances are all keyed. Catering is all set up. Everything is going swimmingly.

'PRE-SHOW PREPARATIONS & INTRODUCTIONS'
INT: THE VENUE - INTERVIEW ROOM - SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD
Outside the film crew capture the arrival of Scotty Latimer who takes with him a bag he threw over his shoulder.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
(On the Phone)
I just arrived at the arena…yeah I got here safely.
Scotty sat down and whispered goodbye to who he had been speaking to on the phone.
SCOTTY LATIMER: (cont'd)
It's been a while since I've come to the smaller arenas to do a show.
Scotty cleared his throat and got comfortable.
SCOTTY LATIMER: (cont'd)
I'm Scott Latimer, first signee here -- active in-ring talent. Not the first signee, that was -
CUT TO: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
Scotty Latimer arriving through some double doors and looks unamused by something.
That something follows through the double doors in the form of the ring announcer Aubrey Williams who is hell bent on maintaining the conversation with Latimer.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
So I said that Tammy said that Keisha said that Tommy didn't enjoy her pasta and you'll never guess what Ashley said to that.
At that point one of the co-owners walks past. Blonde hair and a form flattering outfit. Scotty pushes his way into a separate conversation.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Abby, I just wanted to say great work on the graphics
ABBY BLAKE:
Thanks. I told you we'd be super quick with the photo to the final thing.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
I wish mine went like that. Scott, your lucky you have such short hair. Mine would not cooperate. It took two stylist, one two, two stylists to get mine just right.
ABBY BLAKE:
It all worked out in the end. If you two don't mind I have a couple things to sort out before we go live. Aubrey, you might want to do a quick mic check as you'll be kicking off the show.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
I'll get right on it.
SCOTTY LATIMER: (pointing the opposite direction)
I'll be heading this way then to get ready.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
Actually I think the changing room is right on the way to the ring. I'll get to finish my story with you!
ABBY BLAKE:
Have fun you two.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Oh yay.
The trip part ways as Scotty is immediately returned to what Aubrey was telling him earlier.

'THE GRAND GLIMPSE'
INT: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
Sabrina Smith took a rectangular box from a well dressed guy named Asher.
ASHER FORRESTER:
You got it?
SABRINA SMITH:
Yep --
Sabrina then realized it was heavier than she thought and quickly pivoted to place the box on the crate.
SABRINA SMITH: (cont’d)
Maybe. How did you hold that?
She asked while checking if he had broken a sweat.
ASHER FORRESTER:
So what did you order?
SABRINA SMITH:
This, Ashy, is the Tenacity Wrestling Grand.
Sabrina had cut the box tape with her nails and lifted open the top. She was now pulling out a freshly made championship belt.
SABRINA SMITH: (cont’d)
Championship. We got to see them make a little bit of this over a video call. Abby & I. It was very interesting and it turned out so well.
That is when we hear the polite knock from Raion Kido.
RAION KIDO:
Greetings, and sorry for the intrusion. I merely wanted to say hello in person…
SABRINA SMITH:
Hello.
RAION KIDO: (cont’d)
and forgive me but my eyes cannot stop looking at that beautiful.
Asher Forrester almost took a step forward.
RAION KIDO: (cont’d)
championship belt. It looks amazing. May I try it on?
SABRINA SMITH:
I guess that's okay.
She then passed the championship belt over to Raion who held it in his hands, then put it over his shoulder.
SABRINA SMITH:
Call it insensitive to work hard and maybe you'll carry it one day. Maybe you'll inspire Ashy here to get back into the ring.
CUT TO: ASHER FORRESTER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Asher sat in the chair and looked down at his finger nails.
ASHER FORRESTER:
Why didn't I sign a contract? I am dating one of the founders of the company and owners. Any time I got an opportunity there'd be a neat little nepotism asterisks next to my wins.
He folded his arms and spoke off to the side.
ASHER FORRESTER:
Nevermind the spray paint that'd be on my locker room door.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
RAION KIDO:
So how are you going to decide who gets into contention for this belt? I've never really turned up for work without there being a match in place.
SABRINA SMITH:
That is something Abby will be announcing at the start of the show. We felt with this underground pilot show we'd try and see how our founding four wrestlers do work when they haven't had a chance to prepare for one opponent.
RAION KIDO:
Makes sense. I'll have my eyes on the TV for the announcement and I'll go warm up.
Raion added while he passed the belt to Asher before leaving the area.

'THE ADDRESS'
INT.: THE VENUE - THE RING
Live in the ring stood Abby Blake in a black dress, looking her best for the debut show. In the corner stood the ring announcer Aubrey Williams who passed Abby the live microphone.
ABBY BLAKE: (ON MIC)
Welcome everybody to Tenacity Wrestling!
She stood with a pleasant grin as the crowd cheered back full of energy.
ABBY BLAKE: (ON MIC)
This is our first show, our secret pilot show. The secret round robin night as you’ll see Scotty Latimer in action four times tonight (Paused for Pop). You’ll see Raion Kido in action four times tonight (Paused for Pop). Matt Stone in action four times tonight (Paused for Pop) and McKayla Yamamoto in action four times tonight (Paused for Pop).
ABBY BLAKE: (ON MIC)
Why four if it’s a round robin, that’s because at the end of the night we’re having a fatal four way with a twist. We’re going to start with the two wrestlers who scored the least amount of wins first and run a small gauntlet before any pin or submission can take place. These round robins won’t only help our talent enter later on and earn a considerable advantage but --
The Monitor above the curtain at the back turned onto a feed of the Grand Championship belt just as Abby snapped her fingers.
ABBY BLAKE: (ON MIC)
But for the talented individual who can get three wins tonight, or even a miraculous four wins tonight; that's going to put you into contention for the Grand Championship belt.
CUT TO: ABBY BLAKE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Abby Blake sat down on the chair provided and brushed her hair out of her face, still dressed exactly the same.
ABBY BLAKE:
Our plan with the Grand Championship is to use wins and loses to see who deserves it. We know this is going to make the champion busy here but as a wrestler myself I believe a champion should be valiant - I couldn’t resist the name drop -- they should be fighting to prove themself the best of the best of the best.
INT.: THE VENUE - THE RING
Abby continues her address to the crowd.
ABBY BLAKE: (ON MIC)
The question, fans in attendance, streamers watching on demand…who do you think it'll be?
Abby asked as the lights dimmed in the ring. The fans in attendance were illuminated by swirling spotlights. Zoomed close ups showed fans in attendance supporting their chosen with merch, signs, and one particular fan cosplaying as the wrestler who got a close up.
CUT TO: ABBY BLAKE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
ABBY BLAKE:
And isn’t it nice to go out and talk to the fans without being interrupted?
(Scene End)
'The Changing Room'
INT. THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
In the backstage area is Raion Kido currently drinking the last of his water before throwing it out into recycling. He is currently watching the TV screen which currently features the pre show stream and has taken his interest.
While enjoying the storytelling his attention is turned to Matt Stone coming out of the room. Stone isn't yet dressed to compete but holds the door open and shakes his head disapprovingly.
MATT STONE:
This is far too small of a locker room. There isn't any room for my bag and room temp- Hey.
Stone walked up to Raion and pointed with his thumb over his shoulder at the locker room behind him.
MATT STONE:
What's your locker room like? Feels like a mix up here, maybe you got my bigger locker room and you're meant to be in room 293.
RAION KIDO:
I was told, actually, to use room 293 in which to change.
MATT STONE:
I've got a roommate?
RAION KIDO:
I gathered it was a floating room. Change and leave. It’s not unusual, especially for newly-organized startup companies.
MATT STONE:
That's ridiculous. Where am I meant to relax? Where am I going to soak my feet post match with a hot towel around my neck and on my head?
RAION KIDO:
Alas, I fear not in our changing room.
Raion gives Matt a slight pat on his shoulder; passing on his condolences to Matt's situation before leaving the screen and Matt who looks back at the changing room mildly aggravated.

'MATCH #1'
'The First Two Signings Face-Off'
RAION KIDO Vs SCOTTY LATIMER
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
The very first contest begins with a collar and elbow tie up between the first and second signees to Tenacity Wrestling. Scotty Latimer starts pushing Raion towards the corner only to be propelled into it monkey flip style. The initial crash throws Latimer off his game because Raion runs into him and lands an impressive strong style dropkick. Winded and rattled, Raion pulls him away from the ropes and covers. Latimer hears the two and powers his dominant shoulder up.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Scotty Latimer is currently nursing his elbow post match.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
That dropkick. You know that saying 'took the wind from my sails. Fuck, I get that now.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING.
Scotty Latimer is pulled up and takes chop after chop to his chest, falling down after the fourth and the fifth that lands. Raion whipped him to the other corner and scouted the boots, slinging them onto the top rope and Raion springboards off the ropes into the air and drives his fist into Scotty's abdomen, causing Latimer to fall to the mat.
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
A prideful Raion Kido backstage looking down to the right, rewatching the spot and nodding.
RAION KIDO:
You know what I decided to call that? ? Pegasus Comet Fist
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion Kido panders to the fans and delivers a strong suplex on Scotty, who clutches his back. The second suplex is where Scotty hits Kido back with a few jabs to the abs and then a roaring elbow. Scotty Latimer stays on his opponent, weakening Raion with headlocks and trying to put away the illustrious star with a blue thunder bomb. The referee checked the shoulders and reached two before Raion kicked out.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Scotty Latimer scratches his chin and
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Kido wasn't the spectacular spectacle when I dropped him into the mat. Where was all that taunting now?
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty Latimer and Raion Kido are on the top rope and Kido is trying to fight off a superplex. Scotty is giving as good as he gets, winning the exchange with headbutts! He quickly gets the grapple in again and hurls Raion off the top rope for a superplex. The crowd roar as they hit the ring mat with an equally loud crash.
Latimer and Raion worked their way to their feet and Latimer drove his knee into Raion's ribs. Raion stumbled to the ropes and Latimer hit another knee, with a bit more gusto before he snapmared Kido into a seated position. Scotty's discuss elbow hit Kido loud and then came the pin.
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Raion watched the footage again, with his gaze directed to the bottom right.
RAION KIDO:
That hurt. You can tell Scotty is experienced because he knew where my head was going to be. But…..
There's a roar from the TV off screen as Raion kicks out.
RAION KIDO:
It wasn't over, and here comes the-
Raion slaps his arm hard for a loud THWACK sound.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
A guttural yell came from Raion as he turned Latimer inside out with his Atomic Thunder (Running Lariat)
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Raion mimicked the lariat but slower so as to not scare the filming crew.
RAION KIDO:
Atomic Thunder, People. Game Changer.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion Kido has control of the match up. He delivered several strikes to Latimers arm, even spinning Scott with a strong kick to the shoulder. Latimer used the space to stun Raion with a SUPERKICK! Latimer goes Blue Thunder Bomb again BUT Raion counters into an armbar! WAIT! Latimer with a powerbomb from the knees and Kidos head hits the bottom turnbuckle!
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
That's the second time he got me in the back of the head.
Raion watches Scotty and his match, shaking his head.
RAION KIDO:
I thought he was going to tap but he was just feeding on that adrenaline, wasn't he?
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
He thought I was going to tap out?
Beat.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
He may have left a bruise on my arm but no way was I going to tap out then. I broke out of that MMA piece of crap and scrambled Kido.
Scotty sits back smugly in his chair.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Dude was way off balance.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion assures the official he can continue, and even avoids Scotty's attempt to punt kick him. Kido goes for Atomic Thunder again only Scotty superkicks to counter. He shouts something at a staggered Kido and superkicks again. Kido falls down to his knee and Latimer adds to the head trauma with a quick snap DDT, rolling back onto his feet and helps up Raion Kido.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Okay maybe that was a bit of an overkill there but I built up a bit of anger by this point. Some douche that morning had dented my wife's car. Disrespectful little sh-
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
And there's Scotty's Rogue Lariat, and that's all she wrote.
A ring bell can be heard and the Voodoo Johnson song 'Diry Angel's begins playing.
RAION KIDO:
BUT it's not over. Tonight it's a marathon not a sprint.
CUT TO: AUBREY WILLIAMS TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
Fun fact. I got so into this match, I forgot I had to announce the winner for like three seconds. Then I nailed it!
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty Latimer's arm is raised by the referee as Aubrey Williams announces him the winner.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
I like the concept tonight. More matches for me to prove myself. These guys are going to carry the bruises I leave into the main event as targets for me.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - HALLWAY
McKayla Yamamoto walked out of the dressing room and tore off her tape with her teeth. Her voice over continues.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO: (V.O)
That starts with Matt Stone apparently. Big mouth,
Matt Stone's things he had left inside the dressing room had deliberately been thrown and laid scattered on the floor.

'MATCH #2'
'The 'Final' Two Signings Face-Off'
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO vs MATT STONE
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Matt and McKayla started their match off differently. Stone snatched the microphone from Aubrey Williams, wiped off the handle, then demanded McKayla admit he was the better wrestler.
The New Zealander swerved the crowd by building up to the desired compliment. She even wowed the crowd with adjectives they'd never heard of before hitting the crescendo and hit the insult Stone wasn't expecting. The crowd venomously chanted it at Matt. The distraction led to McKayla almost putting Matt away with a roll up.
CUT TO: AUBREY WILLIAMS TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Aubrey is sat with her legs crossed pointing off to the right.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
He deserved that. Wiping the mic and bringing my daughter up. I wished Yamamoto would win right there.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
McKayla landed nine running European uppercuts to Matt in the corner and the crowd (and Aubrey) wanted to see a neat ten. Matt used his strength to land a big flapjack to the top turnbuckle, and mocked the crowd's boos by playing them the world's smallest violin.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
That was S-W-E-E-T. McKayla Yamamushed. Oh, I feel bad for the turnbuckle though. Had to take McKayla's face into it.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
McKayla Yamamoto got thrown out the ring by Matt Stone and he used the steps to inflict some lower back pain to McKayla who was whipped into them.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
Yeah he needs help against me. Using the ring there instead of his own two fists.
She said glaring at the footage and grit at the jaw.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
McKayla was sent back into the ring and Matt gripped her into a chin lock. The crowd immediately rallied behind Mick and she fought out of the hold; via multiple elbows. Stone stumbled away clutching his abdomen and got kicked through the ropes. Stone then gets a face full of his now former tag partner in this match; the steel steps.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
So I thought he'd like a taste of his own medicine.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Yamamoto has Stone back in the ring and went for the palm strike. Stone caught it and openly bent two fingers back to send McKayla away. Her back was turned on him and Stone hit a swift running spinning leg sweep.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
Look at me there. What a take down. Now watch what I do here. BAM! D-D-T.
He sits back proud of himself.
MATT STONE:
Shame that didn't put her away. I'd have the quickest win in the company history.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Matt was back up to his feet and miffed that McKayla kicked out. She got German suplexed for her resilience. Stone followed this up with another suplex and called for the fans to chant one more time. They chose a different set of three words; one of which was his name.
Stone went for the back suplex and McKayla flipped over onto her feet. She clapped her hands together and put everything into a battering ram back elbow, only to pop the crowd as she landed the back suplex.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
See this is why I don't try invite the fans in. They suck and they ruin everything.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
McKayla nodding with a smile
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
That felt good. That was epic.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
McKayla has just hit Matt with a striking combo and he's tried to pull himself up in the corner. Stone avoided the big spinning elbow only to take a mid-section kick. The crowd get on their feet as McKayla went for Killshot (Bicycle Kick) but Stone dropped and booted McKayla in the ankle as she landed.
The referee went to check on her as she colapsed, she refused to stop the match and Matt Stone grapevined the leg and wrenched the ankle.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Matt threw his hands up as he sensed judging looks from the crew.
MATT STONE:
What? She said she could continue the match. If they can't stand, they can't fight. Terry Silver..
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
The referee forced a break as the New Zealander had her hands on the ropes. Stone gets to the other side of the ring and runs towards McKayla. She still held the rope but Stone struck with a boot to the shoulder. Mia was forced upright by the strike and Matt fed her the turnbuckle before using a roll-up.
Many fans got up expecting him to use the tights or ropes for leverage, and planned to snitch to the ref. In this instance Stone used it to transition straight into a reverse STO!
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
For any new fans watching. I had my hand on the ropes, that's a rope break and any respectful wrestler waits for you to let go before engaging.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Matt Stone lifted up McKayla and concluded the second contest with a C-c-c-c-combobreaker (Codebreaker), hooded both legs and firmly planted the shoulders down. Scoring the one, two and three.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
And that's how it's done. One two hold up.
Matt Stone appeared to notice somebody go by. He pulled out his mic and followed in pursuit.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - HALLWAY
MATT STONE:
Sabrina wait, wait, wait.
He called out as Sabrina Smith slowed her pace, but didn't stop.
SABRINA SMITH:
Yes?
MATT STONE:
Aren't you going to congratulate me on the win?
SABRINA SMITH:
You slowed me down to feed your ego?
MATT STONE:
Okay. You're busy. However, the changing room situation. I need my own space. Can't you find anywhere here, get some staff to move some crap out of a room?
SABRINA SMITH:
No. We're renting the space for tonight and the owner had a lot of restrictions. We were given a room to change, an area for catering, bathrooms, and we even got an open area for any warming up over there.
MATT STONE:
I don't work out in public.
MATT STONE:
How about this. Since everyone's changed they can stay out of that room and we'll just call that my locker room.
SABRINA SMITH:
They need it to wash and change so they can go home too, Matt.
MATT STONE:
Do they? I don't think you've been in the same room with Latimer, I think he skips shower day and leg day too often.
SABRINA SMITH:
Don't be mean, Matthew. Look I know it's not the A-Leagues but you're the only one who has an issue. Raion, McKayla, Latimer all have been fine with it. So why don't you get ready because you're facing Scotty next. Best of luck.
Matt Stone is then left in the hallway and he throws his hands up exhausted. He turned around and came face to face with Scotty Latimer who is staring a hole right through him.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
I heard all of that.
Latimer then shoulder checked Matt as he walked off camera.

'MATCH #3'
'STICKS & STONES'
MATT STONE vs. SCOTTY LATIMER
INT: THE VENUE - THE RING
The round robin contunued with Matt Stone and Scotty Latimer squaring off. Latimer the more well rested of the two unleashed a flurry of strikes at Matt until he forced a rope break. Scotty didn't let him have it, performing an inverted headlock backbreaker.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
Karma!
As she smugly looked at the camera.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty put Matt in the corner and began driving his shoulder into Stone's locker back. He looked keen to get the second victory in and whipped Stone as hard as he could. Stone hit the turnbuckle hard and collapsed. Scotty looked at performing a corner slingshot splash on Matt but he was able to roll over and get his knees up.
Stone then took control and stomped over Scotty until he forced Scotty to the edge of the ring and pushed him out the ring. Rather than go outside with a more hardcore styled wrestler, Stone called for the referee to count. He taunted the crowd telling them just how smart he was by this strategy.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Scotty Latimer half-shrugged towards the camera.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
I mean I don't like the guy, but he knew not to get in the water with a shark.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
At a count of six Latimer slid back in and the pair locked horns. Latimer's slight weight advantage let him back Matt up to the corner. They break and Stone shoved Scotty back. Scotty went for a straight punch and Stone ducked out of the corner. He slammed Latimer in the face with a back elbow, then lifted Latimer up onto the top rope. As Stone tried to climb up Scotty Latimer hit a full force headbutt to Stone and he fell to the mat.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
I forgot right there that I was fighting a neanderthal.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Matt Stone is then driven face first into the ring mat again by Scott Latimer with the diving bulldog.
CUT TO: SCOTT TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
I honestly thought I got him with that. I thought I heard a crunch.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scott picked up Matt and uppercut him onto the ropes. Stone hangs on the top rope Latimer went for a cactus clothesline here but Stone was able to boot Scotty on the jaw and drop him.
Stone capitalized with a snapmare to set up 360 No Scope!
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
I am SO GOOD! Rewind that.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Stone stepped off Scotty's back and then came down on it with a knee. Latimer took a straight knee to the back.
Matt then applied a knee to the back and a camel clutch. Latimer looked like he may tap, but he powered through the pain. Stone got lifted up on Latimer's back and scouted Latimer's plan for him.
Matt freed himself with a quick forearm to the back of the head, and sent Scotty into the middle turnbuckle.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
This, right here, for the people who are not famous enough to be on camera, is what you call the closer. I'mma about to ring his bell .
Matt then began edging forward to watch the finale.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty is slumped and he's trying to shake off the cobwebs. Stone has no intention of not seizing the moment and hits a big snap back suplex. He's poised and ready to put the cherry on this. A defiant Scotty shoved Matt back when he approached, Matt struck back with a knee lift to the ribs. Stone goes for his finishing maneuver again but Scotty shoved Matt away again. Matt ducked a lariat and then got in the combobreaker!
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
Boom.
Matt dusts his hands off loudly into his mic.
MATT STONE:
That's all she wrote.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Scotty watching the loss and turning away as the camera focused on Matt's victory post match.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Eh. I got one in the bag. All I need is one more win.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - RINGSIDE
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
Here is your winner, and the first ever wrestler in Tenacity Wrestling history to score two wins in a single night….Matt Stone!
Aubrey Elizabeth announced. Once the mic was away from her she can be seen asking Matt if he's happy now as he wrote her a cue card.

'INTERVENTION'
INT: THE VENUE - THE MEET & GREET - INTERVENTION
Sabrina is then followed by a cameraman through a few fans to an open room which has Raion Kido, Scotty Latimer, Matt Stone, and McKayla Yamamoto in different corners currently behind a table with stacks of t-shirts disappearing by the second.
SABRINA SMITH:
It's intervention. Which for those who are new to the small show circuit is sort of a meet and greet for fans. Ooo! Have a look at these, Lyla!
Sabrina name dropped the camerawoman and picked up a medium Scotty Latimer t-shirt.
SABRINA SMITH:
And we have tables where the talent can sell their 'merch'. At the moment we have the talent bring their own merch and they keep 100% of all sales. Eventually we hope to produce something official ourselves.
Sabrina said before a fan snatched the medium shirt from her and got ready to buy it.
SABRINA SMITH:
It looks like we have a speedy selling frenzy! Scotty is sold out of mediums.

SABRINA SMITH: (CONT'D / V.O)
I know we sent a memo out and encouraged talent to bring a minimum of fifty, and whoever sold out the fastest would get a hundred dollar bonus.
CUT TO: SABRINA SMITH TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Back in the room, Sabrina just shrugged and chortled.
SABRINA SMITH:
I guess that is Matt Stone who got the bonus!
As she waved the cash toward the camera.

CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
You call that a dropkick?... Let me show you how it’s done!
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion's shotgun dropkick hit the mark and McKayla was winded. Raion didn't stop and hit the German suplexes like they were going out of style. He capped it off with Ura-Nage but McKayla valiantly fought on. Kido found himself attempting to go for a top rope German suplex to win this one. McKayla maybe sensed it would be curtains for her and dug deep. She got a headlock in and pummeled Kido with punches. Rather than dismount McKayla just threw caution to the wind.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
McKayla sat forward and emphasized with her hands.

'THE QUICK PRE-MATCH PASS'
INT: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
Matt Stone casually saw Raion Kido walking down the hall. He took a moment to sharpen his strut and dropped an outdated quote.
MATT STONE:
On your left.
Matt
MATT STONE:
So here we are. Raion whatever your last name was -- I didn't memorize it -- and Matt Stone -- the human form of Goku, Superman, That One Punch anime guy,
RAION KIDO:
I can see you Googled these references.
Raion raised up Matt's arm with a slightly visible list and pictures of powerful fictional characters.
MATT STONE:
Irrelevant. The point I'm making is I have two wins and I'll be making it a cool three in a row, which puts me in the most advantageous position for the gauntlet.
As it has throughout the evening, a gong played and the lights flickered.
RAION KIDO:
Yes. It's true. You do have the advantage, an even greater one if you do enter last. Which makes me the underdog.

'THE FINAL ROUND - PART 1'
MATT STONE vs. RAION KIDO
INT: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion and Matt began the match with a lock up and Kido's hurricanrana turned Matt into a triangle choke had Matt not yelled at the ref about the rope break. Stone refused to get back in until Kido backed up, earning the ire from fans who began a chant you could abbreviate with letters HTFU.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
Unbelievable. I gave them two incredible matches. I wrestled twice and all they do is
Matt then air chanted and pretended to be a variety of fans before he dropped his improv class.
MATT STONE:
I get no respect I tells ya. No respect. Might as well put Larry Burns on that sorry excuse of a locker room.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion Kido landed on both feet as Ma
tt tried to hip toss him. Two handed chop to Matt who backed up into the ropes. Kido went for the German suplex and Stone used the ropes. A stiff back elbow to the cheek bone broke the grap; Stone landed a discuss ST-Owned!
Raion kicked out three times before Matt argued with the ref. Stone stomped over the chest until Kido grabbed the foot and twisted. Stone limped away and sought sanctuary in the corner. Kido came up and then ducked the wild elbow. Kido landed several punches and one loud chop; it opened up the Irish whip and Stone hit the corner. Raion spun Matt around as he bounced out and connected with the bridging German for two.
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
Defeating Matt is so important. I am not being the only one without a win tonight.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
3 wins and then I'd take a fourth in the main event. Just imagine it.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Matt shoved Raion into the ropes and hit him with the back elbow. Raion collapsed and Stone heroically stood on the chest with arms spread. It was for a split second and he took down Kido with the arm drag. Now in the corner Stone wanted to land a superplex but Kido fought Stone off the top rope. Kido jumped into a gut kick and the double underhook suplex planted Kido on the tailbone. Stone went right after it with an inverted headlock, a knee to the lower back, and a grasp on the ankle. Here Stone bent Raion around himself and the knee.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
You see that? That's what it takes to be a winner. I'm a strategic genius in that ring, and I had Raion Kido right where I wanted him. But did you expect anything less from the Master of Mayhem? I put on a clinic out there, and I was this close to adding another win to my record.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Despite the pain, Raion Kido shows incredible resilience and determination. He manages to use his technical prowess to escape Matt Stone's hold and create some distance between them. As Stone charges towards him, Kido surprises everyone with a lightning-fast dropkick that sends Stone crashing into the turnbuckle.
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
Stone talks a big game, but I'm not backing down from anyone. I knew I had to dig deep to secure a win tonight, and that's exactly what I did. This victory means everything to me, and it's just the beginning of my journey to the top.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion Kido capitalizes on his momentum and climbs to the top rope with lightning speed. The crowd roars with excitement as he takes aim and leaps off with a picture-perfect shooting star press, landing right on top of Matt Stone!

'MATCH #6'
'THE FINAL ROUND - PART 2'
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO vs. SCOTTY LATIMER
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
In the ring Scotty and McKayla had a staredown before they locked up. Scotty had the weight advantage and moved Yamamoto around before landing a snapmare into a knee to the back.
The strike led to Scotty landing a couple of stiff punches and a leaping knee to her back. Yamamoto managed to snatch control of the match when Scotty whipped her hard into the turnbuckle; rather than collapse McKayla rebounded and superkicked Scotty off his feet and into a seated position. She ran through the pain, ricocheted off the ropes and repaid Latimer with the knee.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
There's your receipt, Latimer.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
The New Zealander stayed on Latimer and delivered a shotgun dropkick to the veteran of the sport. It knocked him on the defensive but he refused to stay down after every pinfall attempt. She decided to apply a double arm stretch with a foot right between the shoulder blades. Scotty growled and snarled in pain but every movement was leading to getting himself up from the mat. Yamamoto never dropped her foot and leaped up. Two feet on the back and forced Scotty to back up. Technically he had the rope break and after a three count McKayla released the hold.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
The little lady didn't wanna let go.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
He called me 'Little Lady'?
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
McKayla Yamamoto flew off the top rope for a dropkick - POWERBOMB! Scotty leaped towards his opponent and popped the crowd with an anti-air counter. The back was clearly hurting Latimer but that pain was definitely reciprocated on McKayla's part. Scotty tried to finish McKayla off with a snap dragon suplex followed immediately up with the Blue Thunder Bomb but McKayla managed to get a foot on the rope at two.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
Where was this official earlier. They respect the rope break.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Scotty Latimer shook his head toward the camera.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Really thought I had her there.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty Latimer set up his finisher and DUCKED! Yamamoto went for the O'Connor roll but rolls solo; Latimer grabbed the ropes. Back kick from Latimer knocked Yamamoto off balance. One more time setting up Rogue Lariat - Yamamoto with a chest kick! Back elbow and Superkick by Latimer dropped Yamamoto.
Scotty Latimer, showing his veteran instincts, manages to recover quickly from McKayla's counter. He takes a moment to catch his breath and regroup. With a determined look on his face, he sizes up McKayla as she starts to get back up.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
She's got some fight in her, but I've been in this business for a long time, and I know how to finish a match. It's time to put an end to this.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
As McKayla gets back to her feet, Scotty seizes the opportunity and charges towards her with incredible speed. He nails her with a devastating Rogue Lariat, catching her off guard and sending her crashing to the mat. The crowd gasps at the impact of the move.
ONE... TWO... THREE!
The referee's hand hits the mat for the final time, and the bell rings, signaling the victory for Scotty Latimer.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
That was a hard-fought battle, and I have to give credit to McKayla for giving me a run for my money. But in the end, experience and power prevailed. This win means a lot to me, and it's a testament to my dedication to this sport.

'MATCH #7'
'THE GAUNTLET'
MATT STONE vs. MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO vs. RAION KIDO vs. SCOTTY LATIMER
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Beginning the match is McKayla and Raion, both with one victory. A timer started on the sound of the bell.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Matt Stone is waiting for his turn, dressed to wrestle and with a timer behind him.
MATT STONE:
So we have three minutes where the already beaten up Raion Kido, dweeb, and the already-beaten up McKayla Yamamoto, dweebette, and they're just going to weaken the other until I come down to the ring and claim that third win that alluded me earlier.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Scotty Latimer has a trash can with him with two kendo sticks.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
No DQ and Matt Stone as an opponent makes Scotty a happy man. I'm sure he'll appreciate that reference.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion and McKayla both had different approaches. Neither looked to pin, both were trying to weaken the other. Raion targeted the left arm, while Yamamoto continued to assault the chest.
Yamamoto managed to get both knees up when Kido went for a big body splash in the corner. This set her up for a second rope double foot stomp. No pin attempt as McKayla lit up the chest with several kicks. Kido rolled out the ring to try regroup, and McKayla perched herself on the apron for a flying knee TO THE CAMERA MAN.
CUT TO: CAMERAMAN TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
A cameraman with a long tissue tusk coming out of his nose, some red blood at the very top.
CAMERAMAN KYLE:
That one hurt…that Scotty Latimer needs to watch where he's flying with the knee.
He clearly remembered who struck him.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
One minute left before new entrants come in. Kido had been dominant and really worked on the arm. His ring experience had him throw McKayla shoulder first into the ring post as the fans counted down the first entrant.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE BEHIND THE CURTAIN
In the darker area with the curtain to the stage as their backdrop stood Matt Stone on the left of Abby Blake and Scotty Latimer to her right. Abby Blake has a coin ready to be flipped.
ABBY BLAKE:
Heads Matt enters last. Tails Scotty enters last.
Abby flipped the coin up in the air and caught it. She let it land in her hand and showed it to the pair.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
I guess I gotta wait.
He said as he slapped the Kendo stick down across his hand.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Matt Stone ran down to the ring and slid in. With a swift kick to the ribs, Kido wasn't going to let Stone get any momentum. Kido landed a couple of chops on Matt's chest and then the Irish whip gave Kido the back body drop! Stone landed on his feet and COMBO BREAKER!
McKayla saw Stone again and launched a vengeful attack against his shoulder. Payback! She landed that same boot to the shoulder earlier and sent Stone from the ring as he laid outside. She turned her attention back to Kido.
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO: I wanted to win it there and then. I could have, but I had to wait for Scotty Latimer to make his grand entrance.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
McKayla connected with her finisher for the second time on Raion Kido this evening, only this time she couldn't pin. She eyed the timer and caught Stone sliding in. She chopped the chest three times and then a rope hung kick to the jaw had her shift into another gear.
She connected with a stiff forearm for space and went for a Springboard dropkick! Caught! Matt Stone with a Sharpshooter! LIGHTNING BOLT by Kido dropped Stone and Raion locked in the rear naked choke to fully send Stone to sleepy town.
Then it was time. Scotty Latimer came down to the ring with his weapon basket. The basket, aka the trash can", actually caught Kido as he went for a dropkick through the ropes. Kido had little movement and stabilized himself only for Scotty to crack him across the back with the Kendo stick.
CUT TO: SCOTTY LATIMER TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Once I got out there I turned it from seven to eleven.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty slammed the trash can over McKayla's back and then quickly struck an incoming Matt Stone on the chest. He spun in place and added a smack to Stone's back to drop him.
McKayla then launched the trash can at Latimer, stunning the family man. McKayla then cracked the kendo stick across Scotty's back. He fell to a knee and McKayla landed back to back and tried to pick up the win. Scotty kicked out. McKayla landed a roll up, only a two there. Latimer managed to push McKayla away and avoid the DDT but took a missile dropkick to the back of the head by Kido.
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
Incoming…
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion caught the boot and threw it down; which brought McKayla closer and had her off balance. Kido used the momentum for a snap suplex and pinned. McKayla kicked out at one, as Kido pushed off and landed on Latimer. This one got him to two and Scotty thrust his shoulder up.
Matt Stone came in and the back suplex crushed the trash can. The crowd roared with a mixture of ruthless pop for the spot and boos for Stone. Stone still picked up the former trash can now a shield. The Canadian targeted McKayla and ran into her in the corner, causing McKayla to collapse. Stone then ran into Scotty in the opposite corner, making him crumble in the corner. Stone then set it down and decided to STOwned Kido on the squashed trash can BUT KIDO elbowed out! Low Blow! And STOwned into the trash can!
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MATT STONE:
That should have been it right there. Should've, Should have. But
He folded his arms begrudged
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Scotty and McKayla both make the save and deny Matt his third victory. Scotty and McKayla then teamed up here. A solid gut kick to Stone and Scotty just went for the pile driver. McKayla then ended their alliance with a stiff kick across the back of the head!
CUT TO: MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
MCKAYLA YAMAMOTO:
Actually that should have been it. He was out cold.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Stone makes the save by throwing a hand up to stop the referee from beginning the count. McKayla abandoned Scotty to try throw Stone out the ring. Stone landed on the apron, ducled a forearm and missed a shoulder to the ribs. BIG KICK to the face and McKayla looked for a blood thirsty rope hung DDT onto the dented trash can! Raion Kido with the rope hung kick just as McKayla went down with the DDT!
CUT TO: RAION KIDO TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
RAION KIDO:
I don't care what anyone says - that should have been the end!
CUT TO: THE VENUE - THE RING
Raion pinned both McKayla and Matt with no movement from either. He got one, he got two but Scotty cannonballs right onto Raion's chest. Latimer throws Kido under the ropes and then McKayla. He landed a superkick on Stone's red chest and knocked him into the ropes. Roaring Elbow MISSED! Stone on the rebound struck a clothesline with half a kendo stick!
Latimer was dazed and spun around into Stone who went for his finish. Latimer reversed into an Alabama slam attempt! Roll through by Stone to set up the finisher- SUPERKICK. Stone now turned around and into the Rogue Lariat BUT MISSED STONE! Matt hit a forearm for space and both men clobber the other with a big lariat!
Kido and McKayla enter the ring here and Lightning Strikes! Raion knocks McKayla with his finisher to score the pin. The official counted 1, 2 and 3 which gave Raion Kido the win. Soldier Dream by ROOT FIVE echoed seconds after Aubrey Willaims announced him the winner.
CUT TO: AUBREY WILLIAMS TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
We cut to Aubrey Elizabeth Williams with a white board next to her. Each competitor's name written down in a different color. Scotty - Red, Kido - Blue, McKayla - Black, and Stone - Green.
AUBREY WILLIAMS:
So by my count Scotty was at 2-1, Stone…2-1, McKayla 1-2 and Kido 1-2. But that match puts Kido at 2-2 and then Scotty and Matt at 2-2. Which means they’re the three front runners for the Grand Championship.
MONTAGE:
Scotty Latimer wiping his head with a towel post match in the changing room.
Matt Stone, beaten to the changing room first, sat on an equipment trunk next to it exhausted.
Raion Kido calling someone excitedly telling them about the result inaudibly.
AUBREY WILLIAMS: (V.O)
The question is -- which two will get that third win to qualify?

'SCOTT.T. PHONE HOME'
INT: THE VENUE - BACKSTAGE AREA
Scotty Latimer appeared post show, having just got his jacket on. Sabrina Smith stepped out from a small area followed by another applicant dressed her best.
SABRINA SMITH:
Thank you for coming out, and we’ll let you know our decision.
Scotty attempted to ask purely by face and hand gestures if Sabrina was going to pick her. Sabrina smiled at the applicant, and only once she had turned away did she lean back. Now with a wide eye and a quick shake of her head, it was a definite no. Sabrina returned after a door opened and closed, arms dangling as she felt the weight of interviewing drop off her.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
No luck then.
SABRINA SMITH:
None yet. Hopefully soon then you’ll see less of me.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Wouldn’t want that. You made sure they had poppy seed bagels in catering.
He revealed the last piece of the bagel he was eating.
SABRINA SMITH:
I’m sure the GM will have that on the top priority if you’re sticking around. Unfortunately we did find out someone on the show wouldn’t be returning…
SCOTTY LATIMER: (FAINTLY SAD/SARCASTIC)
Oh no. It’s not Matt, is it?
Sabrina reacted as if she almost remembered something.
SABRINA SMITH:
Not Matt but you reminded me! I need to give him the bonus for selling out.
Scotty watched as Sabrina quickly counted out the bonus, then stepped forward.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
You know what. You’re a busy woman. Too busy to run money around. I’ll see him on the way out and see if the top salesman gets it.
SABRINA SMITH:
Oh, I don’t mind!
SCOTTY LATIMER:
I insist. You probably have a lot of signing off to do and this gets everyone else home a little quicker. I saw Matt tried to talk your ear off earlier.
Sabrina then handed over the money after she glanced at the to-do list on her phone.
SABRINA SMITH:
Thank you! Just let him know congratulations from Abby and I.
SCOTTY LATIMER: (UNLOCKING HIS PHONE)
Oh I’m calling him right now.
Sabrina then exited promptly to get started closing down the show backstage. Scotty began calling someone on his phone.
SCOTTY LATIMER:
Hey. guess what? -- I sold all my tees and the boss slipped me a bonus -- a bonus -- so I’m thinking you get a sitter and we’ll celebrate.
Scotty then walked out the fire exit rather than heading toward the changing room with his bag over his back.
CUT TO: THE VENUE - OUTSIDE THE CHANGING ROOM
MATT STONE: (ON HIS PHONE)
Raion Kido -- let’s be real he tied up with Latimer and I. It’s not a loss, I’m calling you to make sure the next show we have a personal trailer outside. That’s the reason I didn’t win. I want the biggest trailer you can get. We’ll use my bonus for the deposit. Hold up?
Matt Stone noticed on the table were a couple of mock ups made for the next show.
Raion Kido as the prominent figure - titled The Grand Title Hunter
Scotty Latimer as the prominent figure - titled Threat Levels
Matt Stone as the prominent figure - titled Matt the Genius
Matt stopped at his, believing it to be the best choice. At which point the staff member returned to collect them. Matt recognized her as Millie Smith who then looked for her phone.
MATT STONE:
If it isn’t Millie the posterographer!
MILLIE SMITH: (DISTRACTED/LOOKING)
Hey.
MATT STONE:
Lose something?
MILLIE SMITH: (DISTRACTED/LOOKING)
My phone.
Matt then spotted it under Millie’s water bottle - however he noticed Millie had an email open. She had attached the three posters, but Matt quickly deleted Raion and Scotty’s - ‘accidentally’ pushing send to hand off the design for the next show.
MATT STONE:
Call me Super-Matt cus I think I found it.
Matt extended his arm out to Millie who immediately looked relieved and took it.
MILLIE SMITH:
Thank you!
Millie quickly put the posters in her tube bag, and clearly was pulling double duty as she had arenas up on her laptop which she was clearly going to focus on selecting.
MILLIE SMITH:
I got to run to a meeting now.
MATT STONE:
Don’t let me keep you from it.
He offered her handbag to her and Millie took it, quickly darting off leaving Matt to whistle to himself as he walked towards the door to the parking lot.
CUT TO: MATT STONE TALKING HEAD - BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW ROOM.
Matt smugly looked at the camera and smiled, slowly delivering the final line.
MATT STONE:
Matthew Stone, you genius.
